Overview
Join a renowned Australian food manufacturing company in the role of Machine Operator for an 8-hour afternoon shift at the Marleston facility. This is a hands-on position where you'll operate machinery, perform equipment changeovers, carry out quality inspections, and contribute to a safe and efficient production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate machinery including completing equipment changeovers.
- Monitor packing lines and troubleshoot operational issues during the shift.
- Ensure smooth, safe, and efficient production through consistent checks.
- Carry out quality assurance procedures throughout your working hours.
- Adhere to safety protocols, food quality standards, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and HACCP requirements.
- Accurately complete relevant production and quality documentation.
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and production-ready work area.
- Proactively identify and suggest improvements to work processes.
Candidate Profile
- Prior experience operating machines in manufacturing, FMCG, or related sectors is preferred but not mandatory at high expertise on day one.
- Mechanical aptitude with confidence to diagnose and solve equipment problems.
- Strong commitment to safety and delivering high-quality products.
- Ability to follow detailed procedures and complete basic documentation tasks.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
- Dependable and capable of performing well in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Additional Information
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles or 5S methodologies is beneficial but not required.
- This is an ongoing part-time position offering an 8-hour afternoon shift based at the Marleston site.
- Pre-employment medical assessment, including drug and alcohol screening, is mandatory for successful candidates.
- Uniforms and necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) are supplied by the company.
- Candidates must have unrestricted working rights in Australia.
