Job description

Position Overview

The Loss Prevention Shift Leader plays a crucial role in maintaining safety and security across the hotel property. Responsibilities include auditing key controls, managing electronic key systems, issuing and tracking master keys, radios, and beepers while ensuring their security. The role involves property patrols to assist guests with room access, monitoring CCTV and alarm systems, and responding to emergencies, including providing first aid or CPR when needed.

Core Duties

  • Conduct routine inspections of key control procedures and electronic security devices.
  • Provide guest assistance with room entry and manage radiocommunication equipment.
  • Monitor surveillance systems and respond appropriately to incidents such as accidents and emergencies.
  • Administer first aid or CPR and coordinate EMS when necessary.
  • Respond to disturbances, escort unauthorized individuals off the premises, and act as a liaison to outside authorities by using standard emergency codes.
  • Document all security and loss prevention related incidents with detailed reports, maintaining strict confidentiality with information disclosure only to authorized personnel.
  • Provide support and documentation for employees requiring medical attention outside the organization.
  • Assist management in staff training, motivation, and serve as a model for expected behavior and performance.
  • Oversee shift operations ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and on time.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Adhere to company policies and procedures, report workplace safety concerns promptly, and maintain a professional appearance.
  • Ensure excellent guest interaction following company standards, including welcoming, anticipating needs, and assisting guests with disabilities.
  • Communicate effectively using clear, professional language, both verbally and in writing, including proper telephone etiquette.
  • Foster positive teamwork and collaboration by listening and addressing employee concerns.
  • Maintain quality assurance standards and support a safe and secure work environment.
  • Perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds unassisted (and heavier with assistance), maneuvering in confined spaces, and using fine motor skills.
  • Complete other job duties as assigned by supervisors.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Educational background: High school diploma or GED equivalency.
  • No prior work or supervisory experience required.
  • No licenses or certifications are necessary.
