Logistics Officer

Job Overview

We are looking for a meticulous and proactive Logistics Officer tasked with overseeing customs documentation, clearance procedures, and compliance management for import and export operations across the UAE and GCC region. This vital role ensures shipments are processed efficiently, adherence to regulations is maintained, and client relationships are effectively managed.

Key Responsibilities

• Compile, review, and submit precise customs documentation like invoices, air waybills, packing lists, and HS codes, adhering to UAE customs and international trade rules.
• Utilize JDL and other customs platforms to govern documentation processes and enforce compliance with UAE, GCC, and global trade legislations, including bonded zones and exemptions.
• Manage import and export clearance for various shipment types—air, sea, and land—including containerized and break bulk cargo, for both B2B and B2C operations, liaising with customs officials, free zones such as JAFZA, and mainland authorities.
• Accurately calculate and process customs duties and taxes, ensuring payments are timely and financial records are reconciled.
• Generate invoices related to duties, taxes, and clearance charges; collaborate with finance teams to address disputes and guarantee collections.
• Serve as the principal client liaison on matters concerning customs procedures, duty payments, and shipment status by coordinating with government officials, freight forwarders, and vendors.
• Track shipments from ports to warehouses, oversee GCC cross-border logistics, and arrange trucking logistics for shipment tracking and allocation.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience in logistics operations, customs clearance, and trade compliance within the UAE context.
• Comprehensive knowledge of UAE customs regulations, GCC trade laws, and HS code classification systems.
• Proficiency in using JDL and other customs or billing software applications.
• Strong communication, coordination, and analytical problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to efficiently manage multiple shipments concurrently and perform well under pressure.
