Job description
About the Role
We are seeking a seasoned Logistics Executive to oversee and streamline port transport activities, container status monitoring, and e-Token management across key UAE ports. The candidate will handle the full spectrum of logistics operations involving container gate movements, slot booking, and coordination of timely deliveries to avoid penalties.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Create, update, and manage electronic Tokens and Port Gate Pass slots via platforms like DP World and Dubai Trade for both full and empty containers.
- Supervise the return logistics of empty containers to off-dock yards or designated terminals, ensuring accurate and prompt processing of Equipment Interchange Receipts (EIRs).
- Confirm the entry status of gated containers.
- Obtain pickup lists from shipping lines following container release confirmations.
- Compile and send load lists before deadlines based on these pickup lists.
- Submit Export Declaration requests for listed containers and verify their approvals.
- Provide shipping instructions related to Bills of Lading and verify draft BLs for accuracy with shipping lines.
- Coordinate and schedule truck dispatches from warehouses, yards, or factories directly to port terminals within vessel gate timings.
- Continuously track container movements, vessel estimated arrival times, free-time durations, and storage statuses.
- Monitor shipping line free days meticulously to optimize drop-offs and pickups, avoiding demurrage, detention, or storage charges.
- Liaise with drivers and third-party transporters to convey delivery directives, monitor transportation stages, and resolve port entry issues or token errors.
- Ensure all shipping documents including Bills of Lading, EIRs, customs releases, and orders are prepared and consistent before token bookings.
Required Skills and Experience
- At least 4 to 5 years of direct logistics experience related to UAE port operations, container trucking, or freight forwarding.
- Expertise in operating UAE port booking systems such as Dubai Trade, DP World, and shipping line portals including Maersk, MSC, CMA CGM, and Hapag-Lloyd.
- In-depth knowledge of port gate-in/gate-out processes, empty container handling, EIR reconciliation, and port cut-off regulation adherence.
- Proven ability to efficiently manage portal errors, rescheduling of tokens, handling driver gate refusals, and maintaining strict delivery timelines.
- Proficient communication in English; additional languages like Hindi, Urdu, or Arabic are beneficial.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for tracking container statuses, managing free-day alerts, and logging trips.
