About the Role

Qatar Airways invites applications for the position of Licensed Aircraft Engineer Level I specializing in Structure within our Technical Engineering department. This critical role involves executing aircraft maintenance tasks to support flight operations and ensuring all duties are performed within the authority of a Licensed Aircraft Engineer. This position demands specialized technical knowledge, skills, and expertise to guarantee the safe, effective, and efficient functioning of aircraft.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Effectively plan and carry out assigned maintenance activities, utilizing appropriate equipment and tools under the guidelines of Qatar Airways’ procedures.
• Evaluate existing work procedures and standards, suggesting improvements where processes lack effectiveness to ensure optimal work performance.
• Authorize and provide the final sign-off on work completed by Mechanics, ensuring tasks meet both company and customer standards, including dispatch reliability and acceptable defect levels.
• Ensure maintenance tasks on aircraft are executed in compliance with established policies and procedures, providing excellent support to internal and external stakeholders.
• Apply technical problem-solving solutions within the scope of assigned authority, maintaining aircraft or component serviceability to meet scheduling needs.
• Offer guidance and on-the-job training to Technicians and Aircraft Mechanics reporting to this role to maintain high work quality.
• When overseeing others, ensure workmanship quality and use of proper tools to complete maintenance tasks to standard.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum educational requirement is either a High School Diploma/Vocational Diploma/Equivalent with at least 5 years of relevant experience or a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent with at least 4 years of relevant experience.
• Essential Qualifications: Diploma in Aircraft Maintenance, or an aircraft maintenance trade/vocational qualification, or Degree (B.Eng., BSc) or equivalent in Aircraft Engineering.
• Must obtain necessary equipment and heavy vehicle driving licenses as required by company maintenance task demands.
• Skills in selecting the correct tools and equipment needed for maintenance activities.
• Competence in applying mathematical methods to solve technical problems.
• Ability to control equipment operations and related systems.
• Strong managerial capabilities including work delegation, setting clear directions, managing workflow, mentoring, coaching, training, and fostering teamwork among subordinates.
