About the Role

Qatar Airways is excited to invite applications for the position of Licensed Aircraft Engineer Level 1 in our Technical Engineering division. This role demands delivering maintenance services on aircraft to directly support flight operations by executing maintenance checks and tasks within the engineer's licensed authority. The position requires specialized knowledge and technical expertise to guarantee the safe, efficient, and reliable functioning of the aircraft fleet.

Key Responsibilities

• Efficiently organize assigned maintenance activities while utilizing relevant equipment and tools, adhering strictly to Qatar Airways’ procedures.
• Critically review current work methods and standards, suggesting enhancements to increase operational effectiveness where necessary.
• Assume accountability for final approval of mechanics’ completed work, ensuring compliance with company and customer standards, targeting high dispatch reliability, and managing levels of allowable deferred defects.
• Ensure the maintenance delivery meets Qatar Airways and customer quality standards and all aircraft maintenance tasks comply with established policies and procedures, providing excellent support to internal and external stakeholders.
• Propose and implement technical problem solutions within authorized limits, maintaining aircraft and component serviceability and adhering to scheduled requirements.
• Provide mentorship and practical training to technicians and mechanics under supervision, ensuring high workmanship standards and correct tool usage.

Candidate Profile

• Education: High School Diploma, Vocational Qualification, or Diploma with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) with at least 4 years of related professional experience.
• Essential Qualifications: Diploma or equivalent in Aircraft Maintenance or a related aircraft engineering degree (B.Eng., BSc).
• Must hold at least one current QR main fleet ICAO or QCAA license and approvals.
• Must possess necessary equipment handling capabilities; ability to obtain a heavy vehicle driving license as required to meet maintenance operational needs.
• Essential Skills: Tool and equipment selection for specialized tasks, problem-solving using mathematical principles, control and operation of technical equipment and systems.
• Strong managerial skills including delegation, workflow management, coaching, mentoring, skill development, and fostering team collaboration.
