About the Role

The Product Development & Design team at Qatar Airways significantly shapes on-board passenger experiences by creating innovative products and design solutions that boost comfort, enhance the premium brand image, and uphold world-class standards across the airline's fleet.

We are seeking a highly imaginative and commercially savvy Manager Aircraft Interior to spearhead the development and integration of current and upcoming aircraft interior features. This leadership position involves shaping cabin hard product strategies and design visions inspired by sectors such as aviation, automotive, consumer electronics, and industrial design to provide outstanding customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead customer-facing cabin interior projects for new aircraft programs, fleet upgrades, and enhancement initiatives.
• Contribute to the creation and execution of aircraft interior strategies aimed at improving passenger comfort, aesthetics, and reinforcing the brand identity.
• Define interior components, branding elements, lighting schemes, and product specifications that align with premium quality standards.
• Collaborate with industrial design studios, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), suppliers, and innovation partners to shape future cabin product ideas and technologies.
• Translate design briefs into compelling product concepts and visual presentations for stakeholders.
• Manage various aircraft interior projects and milestones to adhere to fleet program schedules.
• Act as the customer advocate during aircraft program reviews, inspections, and acceptance processes.
• Design cabin layouts, seating solutions, galleys, lavatories, color schemes, materials, and finishes that satisfy both operational and customer requirements.
• Perform industry research, competitor benchmarking, material assessment, and trend analysis to remain at the forefront of cabin design innovation.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Transportation Design, Product Strategy, Industrial Design, or a related field.
• A minimum of 8 years’ relevant experience in product development focused on aircraft interiors, preferably with experience in aviation or automotive sectors.
• Proven experience working within multinational creative settings, product innovation teams, R&D departments, or design studios.
• In-depth understanding of aircraft cabin interiors, product development cycles, design integration, and customer experience enhancement.
• Strong capability to analyze competitors and convert market insights into product improvements and innovation opportunities.
• Excellent decision-making, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to influence cross-functional teams and manage external partnerships with suppliers, OEMs, and design collaborators effectively.
• Creative mindset focused on innovation and delivering exceptional experiences across all cabin classes.
