Lead Software Engineer, AI Product Development

Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Lead Software Engineer to develop advanced AI-driven full stack web applications, deployable across desktop and cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud. This position demands collaboration with designers, AI specialists, and QA engineers to ensure high-quality, responsive software solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Create reactive full stack web applications tailored for desktop and cloud environments.
• Collaborate with UX/UI designers to build responsive front-end interfaces using HTML, CSS, and React.js or similar frameworks.
• Develop backend services alongside AI engineers using Python, Node.js, or equivalent backend technologies.
• Partner with QA teams to author and execute automated test scripts ensuring application reliability.
• Diagnose and fix issues encountered during development or post-deployment.
• Document software architecture and design clearly for various technical stakeholders.
• Adhere rigorously to DevOps best practices including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, secure coding, and software design principles.
• Stay up to date with new technologies, tools, and trends in full stack development.
• Collaborate closely with product and engagement managers to create user-facing demos.

Qualifications and Experience

• Postgraduate or tertiary degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or a related analytical domain.
• At least six years of hands-on experience delivering large-scale, multi-site technology projects with a proven track record.
• Proficient in front-end development languages and frameworks including HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, React, or Angular.
• Experienced with backend technologies such as Python, Node.js, Express framework, and both SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Practiced in test automation and continuous integration/continuous deployment workflows.
• Preferred experience working with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies like Scrum and Kanban for software development.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts effectively.
• Ability to work productively within cross-functional teams as well as independently.
• Self-driven, creative, and a team player with excellent interpersonal and communication capabilities.
• Knowledge of the Homeland Security sector is a plus.
