Job Overview
The Lead Planner will oversee the preparation, upkeep, and communication of project schedules specifically for ABICON's work scope. This role involves ensuring accurate progress tracking and identifying scheduling risks to keep project leaders informed.
Primary Duties
- Create and update the baseline and ongoing project schedules using Primavera P6 for ABICON's area of responsibility.
- Manage a team of planners and integrate discipline-specific timelines into a unified master schedule.
- Consistently monitor project advancement and revise schedules based on on-site updates and productivity metrics.
- Carry out variance analyses and evaluate the critical path to pinpoint delays and potential risks.
- Generate progress visualizations such as S-curves, histograms, and detailed reports for internal and client review.
- Collaborate with construction, procurement, and engineering teams to coordinate schedules.
- Assist in developing alternative schedule scenarios and recovery plans.
- Ensure uniform application of progress measurement methods across all disciplines.
- Aid in the creation of short-term look-ahead schedules on a weekly or monthly basis for execution purposes.
- Support the collection and organization of schedule data related to change orders and claims.
- Represent scheduling status updates during progress meetings.
- Maintain thorough documentation and archive historical schedule data to facilitate future learning.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- At least ten years of experience in planning and scheduling within EPC or construction projects, including experience leading teams.
- A bachelor's degree in engineering or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Primavera P6 scheduling software and MS Project.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Effective communication and leadership capabilities.
- Expertise in project scheduling, progress measurement systems, critical path method analysis, earned value management, reporting/dashboard creation, and advanced MS Excel skills.
