About the Role
At Cadence, we seek visionary leaders and innovators ready to influence the technology landscape significantly. This position involves sustaining and enhancing the infrastructure and automation systems utilized by RTL development and design-verification teams distributed across multiple sites. These resources operate on diverse server farms, including cloud platforms such as Amazon and IBM, alongside on-premises setups.
Key Responsibilities
The candidate will be responsible for maintaining and upgrading automation and infrastructure supporting RTL and design verification teams. This covers multiple server environments, spanning from cloud services to internal data centers. Managing regression trend monitoring and automating error and defect report generation will form a core part of the responsibilities. Furthermore, assisting users across these varied computational environments will be expected.
Required Expertise and Skills
- Strong proficiency in both Perl and Python programming languages.
- Understanding of dependency checking utilizing build tools like make and SCons.
- Experience with batch queuing systems such as LSF, Grid, PBS, or Open Lava including script integration capabilities.
- Skillful in consumption of REST APIs (for instance Jenkins and Jira) through Perl and Python interfaces.
- Competence in migrating scripts and script libraries across different Linux operating system versions.
- Familiarity with SQL and relational database management systems like MariaDB and PostgreSQL, along with integration using Perl/Python.
- Basic web technology skills encompassing Apache setup, PHP, JavaScript/jQuery, and implementing RSS feed automation.
Additional Desired Qualifications
- Educational background: BS/MS in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
- A minimum of seven years’ pertinent industry experience.
- Ability to update and troubleshoot TCL scripts embedded within various electronic design tools such as simulators, waveform viewers, formal verification suites, and proprietary interpreters.
- Knowledge of hardware description languages (Verilog, SystemVerilog testbenches) and familiarity with verification methodologies like OVM and UVM, including the integration of DPI or PLI components.
- Basic IT infrastructure knowledge covering NFS, system profiling for memory/CPU, and services such as NIS, DNS, LDAP, SMTP, syslog, and scheduled tasks with cron.
- Experience installing, configuring, and managing Jenkins automation servers.
- Use of module-files and modulecmd for managing software tools and versions.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, and IBM Cloud.
- Proficiency with version control systems like git or GitHub.
- Location flexibility as the position operates in Austin, San Jose, or Bangalore.
