Role Overview

We seek an experienced Lead Data Engineer based in Bangalore to drive enterprise-level data warehousing and data lake solutions. This role demands deep expertise designing, deploying, and maintaining large-scale architectures on cloud platforms like AWS and Azure. With a strong foundation in SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and document-based databases, you will be responsible for optimizing performance, implementing governance frameworks, and leading modernization initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable enterprise Data Warehouse and Data Lake architectures.
• Administer and optimize SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and document databases including MongoDB and Document DB.
• Implement data warehouse modeling techniques such as Star and Snowflake schemas and enforce data governance practices.
• Tune SQL queries and optimize database indexing, partitioning, and overall performance.
• Ensure database infrastructure supports high availability, backup and recovery, security measures, and capacity planning.
• Develop and deploy standardized enterprise database frameworks and governance models.
• Manage database version control using tools like Liquibase, and build CI/CD pipelines with Github Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, etc.
• Contribute to defining enterprise database standards and reusable automation frameworks.

Technical Requirements

• 7+ years overall IT experience focusing on Data Warehousing and Data Lake platforms.
• Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience designing and supporting enterprise-scale data architectures.
• Strong skills in managing SQL Server and PostgreSQL databases - administration, development, and performance tuning.
• Experience working with cloud-based databases on AWS and/or Azure.
• Knowledge of NoSQL document databases like MongoDB or DocumentDB.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation is advantageous.
• Familiarity with database observability, monitoring, and cost optimization in cloud environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related discipline.
• AWS or Azure Cloud Certifications are a plus.
• Experience with large-scale data platforms supporting analytics and reporting workloads.
