Job description
Overview
The Laundry Specialist is responsible for delivering hands-on technical support across commercial and industrial laundry operations. This role ensures optimal functionality of laundry machinery, chemical dosing systems, wash programs, and associated application processes with a focus on maintenance, troubleshooting, and equipment performance stability.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct technical assistance for industrial laundry machinery, including dosing systems, to maintain consistent and efficient laundry operation.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues affecting tunnel washers, washer extractors, pumps, controllers, and other laundry equipment, escalating complex problems as necessary.
- Verify and maintain chemical dosing setups, including pumps, tubes, and calibration, to guarantee accurate chemical application during washing cycles.
- Assist in implementing and adjusting wash programs and machine configurations per laundry application standards.
- Support installation, testing, and commissioning of laundry dosing equipment and related systems at client locations.
- Perform scheduled preventive inspections and maintenance checks to reduce equipment downtime.
- Coordinate minor technical repairs and liaise with Engineering for advanced maintenance tasks beyond the technical scope.
- Collaborate with Laundry Application Expert in chemical titration, water quality assessments, wash cycle testing, and process enhancements.
- Monitor equipment and dosing system performance for wash quality, chemical consumption, and operational efficiency, taking corrective actions when needed.
- Visit client laundry facilities to examine equipment, troubleshoot complaints, and restore proper functionality.
- Manage spare parts requirements and coordinate replacements with internal teams.
- Deliver hands-on training to customer operators on equipment use, dosing systems, routine checks, chemical handling, and basic troubleshooting.
- Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including service records, checklists, and reports of interventions.
- Adhere strictly to health and safety protocols regarding chemical handling, PPE use, equipment isolation, and site-specific procedures.
Performance Indicators
- Completion and timeliness of technical service requests and problem resolution.
- Equipment availability and reduction of recurring technical faults.
- Accuracy and compliance of dosing system calibration.
- Completion of scheduled preventive inspections and follow-up on identified issues.
- Rate of first-time technical issue resolution and minimized repeat service calls.

- Strict adherence to safety standards during all technical activities.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or technical certification in Mechanical, Electrical, Electromechanical, Industrial Maintenance, or a closely related field.
- Preferable technical training related to commercial or industrial laundry equipment, dosing systems, pumps, or similar technologies.
- At least 2 to 4 years' practical experience in commercial or industrial laundry technical support, maintenance, or related areas.
- Hands-on expertise in troubleshooting laundry equipment and dosing systems.
- Working knowledge of tunnel washers, washer extractors, pumps, controllers, and dosing equipment.
- Understanding of laundry chemicals and safe handling procedures.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and perform site-based technical tasks.
- Basic computer literacy and ability to maintain reports.
- Possession of a valid driver's license with willingness to travel to onsite customer locations.

Reporting & Relationships
- Reports directly to Laundry Manager or Technical Services Manager.
- Works closely with Laundry Application Experts, Laundry Operations, Engineering, Sales, Supply Chain, and Warehouse teams internally.
- Liaises externally with clients’ laundry operators, maintenance personnel, and technical equipment partners as needed.
