Role Overview and Duties

• Adhere thoroughly to all departmental policies, service procedures, and standards.
• Consistently uphold superior standards aligned with LQA and Rosewood Brand guidelines.
• Operate ironing and folding machines per operational specifications, ensuring all cleaned items are checked for cleanliness and condition, segregating any damaged or stained pieces.
• Fold laundered items accurately and organize them by type and size for distribution.
• Regularly replenish food and beverage closets with clean linens.
• Maintain the quality of guest laundry and the accompanying documentation in accordance with departmental standards.
• Handle guest requests related to laundry, dry cleaning, and pressing for garments, hotel uniforms, and select management clothing according to specified protocols.
• Operate laundry machinery including washers, dryers, and ironers, load articles correctly, and ensure proper cleaning agents are used.
• Sort dried items by category, such as separating whites from colored cloths.
• Follow garment label instructions to complete processing accurately.
• Identify damaged or stained hotel uniforms; decide on necessary repair, re-cleaning, or disposal; and maintain updated records of discarded uniforms.
• Position finished wet cleaning garments in designated distribution areas.
• Keep precise records of laundry and dry cleaning poundage and counts of ironed items, towels, and pillows per departmental processes.
• Report any faulty equipment, damages, shortages, maintenance needs, or safety risks promptly to supervisors.
• Maintain cleanliness by removing lint and debris from equipment such as drains, dryer filters, and change filters as required.
• Thoroughly clean lint trap compartments on dryers before and during operations.
• Ensure work areas remain tidy and organized throughout shifts, including proper equipment breakdown and cleanup following procedures.
• Handle trash disposal and adhere to recycling guidelines in transporting and cleaning containers.
• Use designated chemicals and tools to clean laundry room floors and organize supply closets according to procedures.
• Restock supplies and prepare work areas for subsequent shifts.
• Apply wax to irons and towel folders twice daily or as needed.
• Assist in monthly inventory management of linens, supplies, and equipment in coordination with Laundry Supervisor and Manager.
• Exemplify a friendly, courteous demeanor when interacting with guests and coworkers.
