Key Responsibilities

• Support various construction, maintenance, and infrastructure-related tasks.
• Perform general labouring duties such as shovelling, sweeping, raking, lifting, and transporting materials.
• Prepare work sites and assist with setup and pack down operations.
• Assist with the operation of plant and machinery when properly trained.
• Operate small tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
• Conduct basic pre-start inspections on plant and machinery.
• Keep work areas organized, clean, and safe.
• Adhere to work plans, site-specific instructions, and quality standards.
• Participate in environmental controls and site maintenance.
• Collaborate effectively within teams and support other groups as needed.
• Strictly follow Higgins' health, safety, environmental protocols and wear required personal protective equipment at all times.

Candidate Profile

• Demonstrate a positive attitude, dependability, and eagerness to learn.
• Capable of performing physical labour safely around machinery.
• Prior experience in construction, roading, infrastructure, or maintenance is beneficial but not mandatory.
• Understand and apply safe work practices on construction sites.
• Able to comply with instructions and work cooperatively within a team environment.
• Strong dedication to quality workmanship and a robust work ethic.
• Possession of a full Class 1 Driver Licence is mandatory.
• Hold or be willing to obtain industry-relevant certifications such as Site Safe Passport, TTM Awareness/TC Basic, or First Aid qualifications are advantageous.
