Grader Operator

Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Grader Operator to join our civil construction team located in Mount Maunganui, Bay of Plenty. This role entails hands-on operation of modern grading equipment across a variety of earthworks, pavement, and infrastructure projects where precision, safety, and quality craftsmanship are crucial.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate graders safely and effectively to support multiple civil construction projects
• Perform trimming and grading tasks meeting specified levels and tolerances
• Interpret and work according to project plans, specifications, and site needs
• Conduct thorough pre-start equipment inspections daily and report any defects promptly
• Collaborate closely with supervisors, surveyors, and construction teams to ensure smooth project progression
• Maintain rigorous standards for safety, environmental protection, and machinery maintenance

Candidate Profile

• Demonstrated experience in operating graders in civil construction settings
• Well-versed in earthworks, pavement building, and site preparation methods
• Proficiency in achieving precise line, level, and surface finish requirements
• Holds a current Class 1 driver’s licence with relevant Wheels, Tracks, and Rollers (WTR) endorsements
• Additional licences such as Class 2, 4, or 5 are considered beneficial
• Confidence in interpreting plans and adhering to construction specifications
• Dependable, safety-conscious, and able to communicate clearly with site personnel
