Role Overview
We are seeking a seasoned Foreperson to lead asphalt surfacing projects within the Bay of Plenty region. This role demands hands-on leadership for coordinating crews involved in asphalt surfacing across various assignments.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and manage asphalt surfacing teams in day-to-day site operations
- Organize work schedules, manage resources, and ensure readiness of the site
- Track progress, productivity, and maintain quality standards consistently during shifts
- Promote a strong safety culture via pre-start meetings, risk assessments, and effective leadership
- Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and traffic control personnel on-site
- Mentor and support crew members to uphold high levels of performance
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Demonstrable background in asphalt surfacing, road maintenance, or civil construction fields
- Experience supervising crews or managing site operations in dynamic environments
- In-depth understanding of asphalt paving techniques, site sequencing, and construction processes
- Capability to foresee challenges, resolve issues, and adjust plans according to changing site conditions
- Possession of a Class 1 Driver Licence; WTR endorsements considered a strong plus
- Excellent communication skills with dedication to safety, quality, and teamwork
