ALS Oil & Lubricants, located in Canning Vale, Western Australia, specializes in providing analytical testing services to monitor the condition of fluids critical to equipment performance.

We invite interested candidates to join our talent pool as Laboratory Technicians, positioning yourself for upcoming openings. This is a full-time position working 8-hour shifts in a small team within our NATA-accredited oil analysis laboratory. You will be engaged in analyzing samples of oil, coolant, fuel, and grease. Comprehensive on-the-job training will be delivered through a structured incremental learning program, making this an excellent opportunity to begin or advance your career in laboratory sciences.

Key Responsibilities

• Receiving, labeling, and unpacking incoming samples
• Registering samples into the system
• Conducting routine analyses including ICP-OES (Inductively Coupled Plasma - Optical Emission Spectrometry), FTIR (Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy), viscosity measurements, particle counting, colorimetry, acid-base titrations, and Karl Fischer titrations
• Basic calibration of laboratory equipment
• Collaborating closely with a team comprising laboratory technicians, technical support, and leadership staff
• Maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of the laboratory environment
• Adhering strictly to safety policies and procedures
• Handling sample racks and boxes weighing between 5 to 10 kilograms

Candidate Requirements

• Ability to work well in a team setting and enjoy collaborative environments
• Capability to perform effectively under moderate pressure and fast-paced conditions
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• High attention to detail and accuracy in laboratory operations
• Willingness to work reasonable overtime when necessary
• Experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) is an advantage, although not mandatory
• Possession of Certificate IV or Diploma in Laboratory Techniques or an equivalent qualification is preferred
