Job Overview
The Maintenance Technician role involves executing corrective, reactive, and planned preventive maintenance across all Americana Group locations in the UAE including restaurants, offices, and commissaries. Responsibilities cover both hard and soft services such as MEP systems, kitchen equipment, hood servicing monitoring, and fire protection systems inspection to maintain efficient and cost-effective operations aligned with Americana's standards.
Essential Skills and Requirements
- Demonstrated experience as a Kitchen Equipment Technician or in a similar role within commercial kitchens, ideally in quick service restaurants or hotel environments.
- Comprehensive knowledge of kitchen appliances like fryers, ovens, broilers, grills, refrigerators, dishwashers, and ventilation systems, including their components, operation, and maintenance needs.
Core Responsibilities
- Handle reactive maintenance complaints and perform planned preventive maintenance adhering to SLA response times (4, 12, 72 hours) with spare parts arranged within 24 hours, and ensure work quality meets Americana's standards.
- Oversee or conduct planned preventive maintenance tasks, including monitoring external vendors.
- Conduct monthly visits and inspections of each store to perform corrective maintenance.
- Implement cost-saving measures by reducing reliance on external vendors through direct repairs and only approving spare part replacements when necessary; alert supervisors of major repairs or changes required.
- Enhance customer satisfaction through proactive service improvement.
- Pursue personal development and skill enhancement by participating in relevant courses.
Education and Experience
- Technical diploma is preferred.
- Between 2 to 5 years of experience in restaurant and general maintenance roles.
- Proficient hands-on experience with kitchen equipment and MEP systems, along with thorough knowledge of UAE parts availability, regulatory requirements, and landlord/mall protocols.
