Job Overview
We are seeking a Kitchen Aide to support food labs and kitchen environments, ensuring cleanliness, organisation, and efficient assistance during practical lessons.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness in Food Labs and Kitchens by wiping surfaces, sweeping, mopping floors, and emptying rubbish bins.
- Refill soap dispensers and keep sink areas clean and sanitary.
- Organize and check cutlery, utensils, and kitchen equipment at workstations.
- Receive daily food deliveries and allocate food items to the appropriate teaching staff.
- Assist teachers by preparing ingredients, utensils, and workstations for cooking lessons.
- Support both teachers and students during lessons by replenishing supplies and assisting with kitchen appliances.
- After lessons, clean and arrange the kitchen, ensuring proper food storage and waste disposal.
- Verify that cookers, sinks and other kitchen zones are clean and switched off after use.
- Handle kitchen linens such as towels and aprons, including washing, drying, and folding them into class sets.
Qualifications & Requirements
- At least one year of experience working within a school environment is preferred.
- Experience related to Nutrition & Food Science laboratories and inventory management is advantageous.
- Must hold a valid WSQ Food Safety Course Level 1 Certificate and provide the Certificate of Attainment before starting work.
