Resource Support Officer - Science Laboratory

Job Role Overview

The Resource Support Officer will be responsible for preparing and managing resources and materials for science lessons, school programmes, and competitions. This role involves overseeing laboratory equipment and maintaining accurate records to support smooth and safe science lab operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Organize and prepare science laboratory materials and resources for instructional and extracurricular activities.
• Label science materials and maintain detailed records of laboratory equipment.
• Perform inventory checks periodically and keep stock and damage reports updated.
• Ensure all laboratory equipment and specimens are functioning correctly and safe to use.
• Handle the safe disposal of hazardous waste, including chemicals and sharp objects.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderly arrangement within science laboratories and storage areas.
• Supervise and ensure the safety of students in the lab and document any incidents.
• Restock laboratory consumables and materials, including first-aid supplies.
• Regularly inspect safety apparatus and protective devices in the laboratory.
• Carry out filing duties, routine cleaning of equipment, and any additional tasks assigned by the school.

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum educational qualification of 'N' Level or its equivalent.
• Proficient English communication skills, both spoken and written.
• Competency in Microsoft Office software applications.
• Open to learning new information technology skills as needed.
• Previous experience in managing a science laboratory or providing resource support is advantageous.
• Experience working in a school environment is preferred.
