About the Role
A leading developer specializing in residential projects in Dundalk is seeking a Junior Quantity Surveyor to become part of their expanding commercial team. This role presents a prime opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor with between one to two years of experience eager to advance their career. The position involves collaborating with seasoned commercial professionals to gain hands-on exposure to cost management, subcontractor account handling, procurement, valuations, and project reporting. The duties include both office tasks and site visits across multiple residential developments.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist with compiling project cost reports and preparing valuations.
- Help manage subcontractor accounts and process payment applications.
- Monitor ongoing project costs and budgets closely.
- Contribute to managing variations and final account settlements.
- Support procurement activities and tender processes for subcontractor packages.
- Maintain detailed and accurate commercial records.
- Communicate and coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and on-site teams.
- Assist with monthly project reporting and cost forecasting.
- Provide general commercial support to the Senior Quantity Surveyor.
Candidate Requirements
- Degree qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related field.
- One to two years’ experience in a Quantity Surveying or related commercial role.
- Prior exposure to residential construction is preferred but not essential.
- Strong numerical aptitude and analytical capability.
- Effective communication and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- A motivated learner with a desire to grow professionally within a commercial team.
- Valid full driving license.
