Intermediate Estimator

Position Overview

A leading main contractor is seeking an Intermediate Estimator to join their estimating team at their office in County Cavan, Ireland. This role involves preparing detailed construction cost estimates to support tender submissions across a diverse portfolio of projects. Reporting directly to the Estimating Manager, the successful candidate will contribute to the expanding estimating function, helping to secure new projects through accurate and comprehensive tender proposals.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop cost estimates and determine pricing for tender submissions on various construction projects.
• Review tender documents, architectural drawings, and specifications to identify the project scope and key cost drivers.
• Obtain, assess, and compare quotes from subcontractors and suppliers.
• Assist in compiling tender returns, ensuring they are thorough and precise.
• Coordinate with design teams, subcontractors, and suppliers throughout the tender process.
• Facilitate smooth post-tender transition to commercial and site teams.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Proven experience as an Estimator, preferably within a main contracting environment.
• Strong numerical aptitude coupled with analytical skills and proficiency in IT applications relevant to estimating.

Compensation and Benefits

• Competitive salary ranging between €60,000 and €70,000 annually.
