Role Overview

A well-established construction and property services company is expanding its pre-construction team by hiring an Estimator. This position involves supporting business growth through preparation of precise and competitive tenders across various refurbishment, maintenance, repair, and planned projects.

Primary Duties

• Develop comprehensive cost estimates and tender proposals for different construction assignments.
• Analyze tender documents, project specifications, and scope of works thoroughly.
• Solicit and evaluate quotations from subcontractors and suppliers.
• Identify commercial risks, opportunities, and implement value engineering approaches.
• Collaborate with operational and commercial teams to formulate successful tender strategies.
• Deliver cost plans and tender recommendations for internal evaluation and sign-off.
• Keep accurate records of tenders and monitor bid performance and win rates.
• Contribute to building supply chain partnerships and framework initiatives.
• Facilitate project transitions to delivery and commercial teams once contracts are secured.

Candidate Profile

• Experience in estimating, quantity surveying, or pre-construction roles.
• Background in construction, refurbishment, maintenance, or property services sectors.
• Familiarity with JCT and/or NEC contract types.
• Strong commercial insight paired with financial knowledge.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder interaction abilities.
• Capable of managing several tenders concurrently while meeting tight deadlines.
• Proficient with IT tools including Microsoft Office and estimating software.
• Possession of a valid UK driving licence.
