Junior Production Operator

Overview

Join Bioksha in Sikkim as a Junior Production Operator. This role involves executing production activities aligned with safety protocols and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to fulfill manufacturing shift objectives efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate production equipment precisely according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and batch manufacturing records to meet shift goals.
• Perform unit operations following SOP and batch process requirements.
• Maximize utilization of resources to achieve production targets during shifts.
• Maintain equipment, facility, and production areas as per SOP guidelines to ensure readiness for audits.
• Identify and suggest process improvements to enhance product quality and optimize resource use.
• Detect deficiencies and document errors, rectifying them as necessary.
• Contribute ideas to improve production efficiency, reduce consumable usage, and enhance resource productivity.
• Accurately execute and update online documentation in compliance with current GMP standards, ensuring data integrity in batch manufacturing records and related documents.
• Lead training sessions for workmen on GMP compliance, equipment handling, safety standards, and housekeeping to facilitate smooth operations.
• Ensure effective housekeeping and sanitation practices, optimizing resource usage.
• Oversee proper use and maintenance of personal protective equipment (PPE) among workmen during shifts.
• Promptly report any near-miss incidents to the responsible officer.

Major Challenges

• Achieving shift production targets despite limited resources by optimizing workload distribution.
• Maintaining seamless production outcomes through effective communication and knowledge transfer between shifts.

Key Interactions

• Collaborate daily with Engineering and Utility teams for equipment and system-related concerns.
• Coordinate weekly with Safety teams for safety audits and PPE compliance.
• Engage periodically with Formulation Technical Support and Tech Transfer teams for troubleshooting and new product projects.
• Interact with equipment manufacturers on a case basis to resolve machinery issues.

Performance Metrics

• Support production of two dosage forms with 35-40 batches executed monthly.
• Support approximately two technical transfers per month.
• Maintain internal on-time and in-full delivery (OTIF) rates exceeding 90%.
• Ensure planned plant utilization rates.
• Achieve zero documentation errors and reportable accidents or incidents.
• Maintain 0% production failures or deviations and 100% SOP compliance.

Decision-Making Authority

• Schedule housekeeping activities independently.
• Recommend equipment selection decisions to Section Head.
• Suggest plant and equipment modifications to Production Officer.

Educational Requirements and Experience

Candidates should possess a diploma in Pharmacy or Mechanical engineering discipline.

Relevant work experience ranges from none up to two years in a manufacturing environment, preferably within the pharmaceutical sector.
