Role Overview
The IT Cybersecurity Administrator will play a key role in implementing, overseeing, and maintaining cybersecurity controls throughout the company’s IT infrastructure to safeguard systems, networks, endpoints, and sensitive business data against threats.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor cybersecurity alerts, logs, and security events to detect potential threats.
- Manage administration of endpoint security tools including EDR and antivirus software.
- Assist in the identification, investigation, and management of security incidents.
- Participate in vulnerability assessments and support remediation efforts.
- Support identity and access management activities, including user access privilege reviews and access control audits.
- Maintain firewall and network security configurations.
- Ensure security compliance is upheld across IT infrastructure components.
- Develop and maintain cybersecurity policies, procedures, and relevant documentation.
- Support backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity initiatives.
- Engage in cybersecurity awareness and training efforts.
- Coordinate with internal IT teams and external technology vendors effectively.
- Assist in cybersecurity audits and assessments.
- Keep abreast of emerging cyber threats and recommend appropriate countermeasures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity or IT security roles.
- Strong understanding of network security principles and IT infrastructure.
- Experience managing endpoint security and access control mechanisms.
- Familiarity with protocols and technologies such as TCP/IP, DNS, Active Directory, and Windows environments.
Preferred Skills and Certifications
- Experience with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) solutions.
- Hands-on with Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) or Extended Detection and Response (XDR) platforms.
- Expertise in vulnerability management practices.
- Experience working in enterprise-scale or multi-site IT environments.
- Desirable certifications include CompTIA Security+, Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Cisco CCNA Cyber Ops, Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), and Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
