Job description
About the Role
We are looking for an Investor Relations Associate to expand the investor relationships at Paires, a dynamic network connecting founders with family offices and high-net-worth individuals (HNWI) for capital raising. Paires operates a two-sided platform facilitating curated meetings between startup founders and investors, managed by a lean, experienced team focused on rapid delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and nurture your own portfolio of allocator relationships by identifying, engaging, and maintaining connections with family offices and HNWIs who invest in US startups.
- Support active mandates by qualifying potential investors, preparing briefing notes, and managing follow-ups to ensure ongoing engagement.
- Consistently generate new investor conversations on a monthly basis to broaden the reach of Paires within the target investor communities.
- Grow your professional skills by collaborating closely with senior team members through shadowing calls and drafting briefs, advancing towards a senior role in investor relations.
Candidate Profile
- Experience in building an allocator network, whether through roles in wealth management, private banking, family offices, capital placement, or self-driven efforts, with demonstrable success in initiating investor relationships.
- Ability to articulate the strategies you use to identify appropriate investors, secure initial discussions, and maintain valuable connections over time.
- Understanding of investor behaviors, particularly those involving direct investments in US-based startups.
- Strong listening skills prioritizing investor trust and respect for their time, preferring to lose opportunities rather than push unwanted meetings.
- Impeccable discretion; confidentiality concerning investor names, investment allocations, and conversations is non-negotiable.
- Comfort working with advanced AI tools to automate pipeline management and preparation, enabling focus on meaningful investor engagement.
Work Environment and Perks
- Completely remote and asynchronous working setup, with limited hours overlapping US Eastern Time to facilitate meetings on Mondays and Thursdays.
- Provision of top-tier AI technologies to support your workflow at no expense to you.
- Access to a senior team providing mentorship and direct exposure to live deal flow from the outset.
- Opportunity to develop into managing your own segment of the investor network.
Application Guidelines
Applications are open through our internal process, where we value thoughtful composition over the listing of contacts. Please do not disclose investor names in your submission; focus on your approach and experience.
