Job description
About Paires
Paires connects founders seeking capital with an extensive network of family offices and high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs). Our platform, driven by a small and experienced team, is profitable, self-funded, and focused on delivering value through curated investor-founder relationships managed by our agents.
Role Overview
We are seeking an Investor Relations Associate to contribute to expanding the investor side of Paires. You will collaborate closely with our senior investor team to support live mandates by qualifying allocators, preparing detailed briefs, following up on investor engagement, and maintaining ongoing relationships between deals. Additionally, you'll develop your own book of investors by identifying and cultivating relationships with family offices and HNWIs who invest in US startups.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and nurture a growing portfolio of allocator relationships, including those you bring and those you develop within the role.
- Support live mandates through investor qualification, preparing briefing notes, and managing follow-ups adhering to our high standards.
- Regularly initiate first conversations with new family offices and HNWIs to expand the investor network.
- Continuously develop your skills by shadowing calls and writing briefs, gaining expertise to advance in this role.
Candidate Profile
- Experience in building an allocator network through roles such as wealth management, private banking, family office, placements, or entrepreneurial efforts, with demonstrable self-initiated relationships.
- Ability to articulate your methodology for identifying appropriate investors, initiating contact, and maintaining value-driven interactions over time.
- Understanding of investors’ actual investment activities, ideally including direct allocations into US startups.
- Excellent listening skills prioritizing building trust and respecting investor time, preferring to forego meetings that would feel forced.
- Exceptional discretion in handling sensitive information such as names, investment allocations, and conversations.
- Proficiency in leveraging AI tools to efficiently manage workflows, ensuring focus on investor engagement rather than administrative tasks.
What We Offer
- Fully remote and asynchronous work, with overlapping US Eastern Time hours limited to a few hours daily.
- Scheduled meetings primarily on Mondays and Thursdays, enabling focused, deep work during the rest of the week.
- Access to cutting-edge AI tooling provided by the company.
- Opportunity to learn from a senior team and engage with live deal flow from day one.
- A role designed to evolve towards independently managing your own segment of the investor network.
