Job description
About the Role
We are seeking an Investor Relations Associate to expand the investor side of Paires, a network connecting family offices and high-net-worth individuals. Paires serves as a platform where founders find the right investors from an active global network, supported by agents who nurture these relationships into meaningful engagements. This profitable, self-funded operation is powered by a small, experienced, and agile team.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and grow your personal book of allocator relationships, including those you bring and those you develop on the job.
- Support live mandates by qualifying allocators, preparing briefing documents, and ensuring follow-ups are consistently conducted.
- Initiate and maintain regular contact with new family offices and HNWIs aligned with backing US startups, with targeted first conversations monthly.
- Engage in continuous personal development by shadowing investor calls and refining briefing skills to advance professionally.
Candidate Profile
- Have started to build a network of allocators through roles in wealth management, private banking, family offices, placements, or personal initiatives, with demonstrable self-originated relationships.
- Possess a clear, articulate method for identifying suitable investors, earning initial engagement, and maintaining valuable connections.
- Understand how investors allocate capital, preferably including direct investments into US startups.
- Emphasize listening over pitching, respecting allocator time and only pursuing meetings when genuinely appropriate.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all sensitive information including names, allocations, and conversations.
- Use advanced AI tools to efficiently manage pipeline and preparation, focusing time on investor engagement.
What We Provide
- Fully remote, asynchronous working environment with minimal overlap required with US Eastern time.
- Meetings scheduled primarily on Mondays and Thursdays, reserving the rest of the week for focused work.
- Access to cutting-edge AI tools to enhance productivity, provided at no cost.
- An experienced senior team to mentor and guide you in mastering investor relations.
- Immediate involvement in live deal flow and opportunities to cultivate your own network segment.
Additional Information
We carefully review all applications without requiring disclosure of investor identities. Our assessment prioritizes the quality of your application composition over contacts.
