About Vector Limited and the Role

Through its Technology Services division, Vector partners globally and leverages advanced cloud technologies, including AWS, to develop cloud-native platforms addressing energy challenges. Based in Auckland, the Intermediate DevOps Engineer will contribute to evolving Diverge, Vector’s cloud-native energy data platform, by optimizing software development and deployment processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and enhance CI/CD pipelines to improve build, testing, and deployment workflows.
- Assist squads by diagnosing and resolving pipeline and build-related issues to facilitate software delivery.
- Integrate and automate testing procedures to ensure robust release quality.
- Refine release processes to guarantee reliable code integration and deployment.
- Collaborate within Agile teams to decompose tasks, estimate work efforts, and support incremental delivery.
- Support monitoring, performance management, and security requirements for development initiatives.
- Identify and implement automation opportunities to reduce manual tasks following DevOps principles.
- Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of shared learning and collaboration.
Candidate Profile
- Practical experience with DevOps methodologies and CI/CD toolchains.
- Hands-on familiarity with AWS services including Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, and IAM; knowledge of serverless architectures and infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform.
- Comfortable working in Agile frameworks such as Scrum or Kanban with experience in task estimation and iterative delivery.
- Skilled in Test Driven Development (TDD), Behavior Driven Development (BDD), and automated testing integrated into pipelines.
- Demonstrates strong problem-solving ability, independent work ethic balanced with effective team collaboration, and a mindset oriented toward continuous improvement.
- Experienced in mentoring colleagues, providing constructive feedback, and enhancing team capabilities.
