Role Overview
The Engineering Manager at VTS will spearhead a high-performing software engineering team focused on scaling the platform globally. This role involves a balanced focus on leadership and technical execution, ensuring reliable platform performance, continuous evolution aligned with customer needs, and achieving product and commercial objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor the engineering team, facilitate recruitment, and enable professional growth.
- Oversee end-to-end delivery phases including development, testing, deployment, and support operations.
- Collaborate closely with Product, Delivery, and Customer teams to align technology strategies with business goals.
- Provide guidance to Professional Services and Sustaining Engineering teams to maintain live platform stability and customer satisfaction.
- Partner with Customer Operations to incorporate DevOps-driven practices enhancing platform reliability, responsiveness, and incident handling.
- Drive continuous improvement in engineering methodologies, standards, and workflows.
- Shape the engineering function’s future, balancing output scalability and innovation.
About the Diverge Platform
Diverge is a robust cloud-native SaaS platform built on AWS serverless technologies, facilitating scalable, resilient, and real-time processing of energy data crucial for mission-critical applications. The platform is managed via infrastructure-as-code and automated CI/CD pipelines.
Candidate Profile
- Demonstrated engineering leadership experience, including managing other leaders.
- Strong technical proficiency in Java and/or .NET, with willingness to engage in coding when required.
- Hands-on experience with AWS serverless, cloud-native SaaS architectures.
- Well-versed in software development life cycle (SDLC), DevOps, and agile methodologies.
- Experience managing live platforms with a focus on delivery, operational reliability, and customer support.
- Outcome-driven, pragmatic problem-solving mindset.
- Exceptional communication skills and stakeholder management abilities.
- Curiosity and a balanced approach towards innovation and commercial impacts.
