Intelligent Transportation Systems Manager

About the Role

We are looking for experienced professionals in Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) to join a prominent Traffic Operations and ITS project in the Middle East. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge in Traffic Operations Management, Roads Management Centre (RMC), Tunnel Control Centre operations, SCATS traffic signal systems, traffic engineering, operational performance monitoring, data analytics, incident management, and planning for major traffic events.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee monitoring and reporting of operational performance for Roads Management Centre and Tunnel Control Centres and guide the development of strategies to improve operations.
• Manage monthly performance reporting along with ad-hoc reports supporting major incidents and special event traffic management.
• Supervise subcontractors providing SCATS and traffic engineering support to ensure optimal on-road performance aligned with corridor performance and incident management KPIs.
• Produce and evaluate monthly performance reports ensuring compliance with deadlines and quality standards.
• Coordinate and lead reporting, lessons learned, and best practices for major incidents and special events.
• Direct data and procedural analysis to create and implement traffic engineering enhancement plans focusing on SCATS signal management and incident/event management improvements.
• Handle customer complaints related to RMC and Tunnel operations, ensuring timely responses within Service Level Agreements and leading root cause investigations.
• Act as the primary liaison for special event coordination with key stakeholders including the Ministry of Interior, Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy, and Ministry of Transport.
• Prepare traffic response plans for special events and configure traffic management systems accordingly.
• Review and improve traffic management response plans through traffic simulation modeling, data analysis, and engineering activities.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Transportation Planning, Computer Science, or a related field.
• At least 10 years of professional experience in Transportation Planning and Management, preferably with a proven track record in the Middle East region.
• Proficiency with Traffic Modelling software and Data Analysis tools.
• Experience leading traffic studies and managing traffic during major events.
• Strong background in delivering management-level reports meeting contractual deadlines.
