HSE Officer

Role Overview

Reporting directly to the Health & Safety Manager, this position involves supporting the implementation and enhancement of the Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) management system throughout circuit operations and major event activities. The role ensures strict compliance with both legal frameworks and sporting regulations as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Perform HSE inspections, conduct risk assessments, and carry out safety observations to identify hazards.
• Oversee Permit-to-Work (PTW) processes and enforce contractor adherence to safety protocols.
• Lead investigations into incidents, near misses, and hazards, including performing root cause analyses.
• Facilitate HSE inductions, conduct toolbox talks, and deliver safety briefings to personnel.
• Assist with fire safety audits and readiness for emergency situations.
• Maintain comprehensive HSE documentation, corrective action logs, and performance monitoring reports.
• Provide support for event preparation and ongoing safety oversight during on-site operations.

Qualifications and Experience

• Possess a Higher Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Hold a NEBOSH International General Certificate, which is essential for this role.
• Have IOSH Managing Safely certification or an equivalent qualification.
• Bring at least five years of pertinent experience in HSE roles.
• Experience in incident investigation, conducting risk assessments, enforcing contractor safety, and managing PTW systems is required.
• Prior exposure to major events, motorsport, construction, entertainment venues, or other environments with high operational risks is highly desirable.
• Willingness and availability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and during events.

Additional Requirements

• Candidates must currently reside in Qatar and hold a valid Residence Permit (QID).
• Ability to provide a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for the duration of the contract, if required.
