HR Manager

About the Role

Join a private equity-backed international B2B product SME as the sole HR Manager, where you will be responsible for in-sourcing the HR function and reporting directly to the CEO. This position requires managing the full employee life cycle across the UK, US, and Europe, delivering practical and business-focused HR advice while establishing scalable HR systems to support company growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive the transition from an outsourced HR model to a fully functioning internal HR department with direct access to the leadership board and significant autonomy.
• Oversee all stages of the employee journey including recruitment, onboarding, performance reviews, and remuneration management for a multinational workforce.
• Offer expert guidance on UK employment legislation and independently handle complex employee relations issues ensuring fair and lawful practices.
• Collaborate with international specialists to coordinate people-related processes, ensuring compliance and proper handling of payroll and benefits in US and European branches.

Candidate Profile

• Holds CIPD Level 5 certification and possesses over five years of hands-on HR experience, preferably in small companies or standalone roles.
• Extensive practical expertise in UK employment law, particularly in employee relations and conducting disciplinary and grievance procedures.
• A pragmatic and commercially aware professional comfortable working independently and advising senior management on organizational risks related to people.

Additional Information

The position is based in Cardiff, UK, offering an opportunity to influence HR strategy during a period of significant growth across multiple regions. The salary range is £55,000 to £75,000 annually.
