Role Overview

As a Housekeeper in our Children's Homes, you will play a crucial part in the daily lives of vulnerable young people, supporting them through their highs and lows. Our homes cater for children with social, emotional, and mental health needs, where your efforts help create a safe, nurturing environment for these children to thrive and regain their childhood experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver nutritious and appealing meals daily, ensuring dietary needs of children and staff are met.
• Manage laundry duties efficiently to maintain clean and fresh clothing and linens.
• Ensure the home environment is maintained to high standards of cleanliness and tidiness.
• Foster a positive atmosphere where young people feel supported in their social skills, relationships, hobbies, and overall wellbeing.

Requirements and Desired Skills

• A positive, proactive team player mindset with a dedication to support both colleagues and children.
• Strong empathy and honesty, reflecting a genuine care for the wellbeing of young people and the team.
• Resilience to cope well with challenges that arise in a dynamic care environment.
• Possession of a full UK driving licence held for more than 12 months.
• Experience or qualifications in food hygiene and nutrition are advantageous.
• Capability in planning and preparing healthy meals for multiple individuals.
• Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness within a residential care setting.
