About the Role

As a Maintenance Assistant at Queensmead House School, you will play a vital role in ensuring the school premises remain well-maintained and welcoming for our young people. Your duties will include performing daily repairs, maintaining school vehicles, and keeping the grounds and gardens tidy. You will often interact with students, so training in child safeguarding will be provided to support you in this responsibility.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Experience or skills in general maintenance, either professional or as a DIY enthusiast
  • Competence in carpentry tasks
  • Knowledge and practical experience with fire door upkeep and maintenance
  • Familiarity with lock fitting and repair work
  • Decorating skills
  • A proactive, positive attitude with a willingness to assist team members
  • Confidence in managing small purchases of maintenance equipment independently
  • Openness to undertaking Health & Safety and related training courses
