Hotel Cleanliness Supervisor (Housekeeping Supervisor)

Position Overview

The Hotel Cleanliness Supervisor plays a key role in ensuring guest rooms, public spaces, and pool areas meet quality standards post-cleaning. This individual supervises housekeeping activities, manages room status reports, and collaborates closely with multiple departments including Engineering, Front Office, and Laundry to maintain a seamless operation.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed inspections of guest rooms and public areas following housekeeping to verify cleanliness and adherence to standards.
• Generate and analyze sold room reports to determine room status, prioritize cleaning schedules, and update departures.
• Act as an intermediary, coordinating efforts between housekeeping, engineering, front desk, and laundry services.
• Document and resolve issues related to discrepant rooms in communication with the Front Desk.
• Prepare and communicate updates on room assignments and shift changes.
• Assist management with employee-related functions including hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching staff.
• Enforce all company policies, including safety and security, reporting hazards, incidents, and completing necessary training.
• Maintain professional appearance and confidentiality, while safeguarding company assets.
• Provide excellent guest service by welcoming guests according to company standards, anticipating needs, and assisting guests with disabilities.
• Develop positive workplace relationships while actively listening and responding to colleague concerns.
• Meet physical demands of the role such as lifting objects up to 55 pounds, pushing/pulling housekeeping carts on uneven surfaces, and extended periods of standing or walking.
• Handle tasks involving fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, computer data entry, and reading small print.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications

• Minimum education level: High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.).
• At least one year of relevant work experience in housekeeping or related roles.
• At least one year of supervisory experience overseeing staff.
• No specific licenses or certifications required.
