Position Overview
Join Westin Hotels & Resorts as a Demi Chef de Partie at Mina's Kitchen in Dubai Marina, where you will assist in preparing ingredients, cooking food to specified standards, and maintaining an organized kitchen station.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare various ingredients by portioning, chopping, washing, and peeling fresh fruits and vegetables.
- Measure, weigh, and mix ingredients accurately according to recipes and quality standards.
- Cook and prepare food items including cold dishes, using kitchen appliances like ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers.
- Conduct food testing to confirm proper cooking and maintain monitoring of food quality throughout preparation.
- Set up and dismantle workstations efficiently and serve appropriate food portions on designated implements.
- Clean and sanitize kitchen tools, knives, equipment, and working areas to maintain hygiene standards.
- Ensure proper appliance and food temperature checks are conducted regularly.
- Comply with all company safety and security policies by reporting hazards, accidents, and maintenance requirements.
- Maintain professional appearance and confidentiality while protecting company assets.
- Communicate clearly and professionally and collaborate positively with team members to meet shared goals.
- Adhere strictly to quality expectations and standards in food preparation and presentation.
- Physically capable of standing, sitting, walking extended periods, bending, twisting, lifting up to 25 pounds without assistance, and other reasonable duties assigned by supervisors.
Requirements
- Educational attainment of a high school diploma or equivalent GED certificate.
- At least one year of relevant work experience in food preparation or culinary roles.
- No prior supervisory experience required and no license or certification mandatory.
