Job description
Role Summary
The Hotel Cleanliness Supervisor is responsible for inspecting guest rooms, public areas, and pool areas after housekeeping services to ensure adherence to quality standards. This role involves preparing room availability reports, monitoring room conditions, prioritizing cleaning schedules, and updating room status for guest departures. The supervisor aids the Housekeeping Department in daily operations and acts as the liaison coordinating activities between Housekeeping, Engineering, Front Desk, and Laundry departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect rooms and public spaces post-cleaning to confirm quality standards are met.
- Prepare and manage reports on room availability and condition.
- Identify discrepancies in room availability and communicate with the Front Desk to resolve these issues.
- Prioritize and update room cleaning schedules, including for departing guests.
- Coordinate efforts among Housekeeping, Engineering, Reception, and Laundry teams.
- Document all changes in assignment sheets and work boards and communicate shift handover information.
- Complete all required paperwork and assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, advising, disciplining, motivating, and coaching staff.
Safety and Compliance
- Adhere to company safety policies and procedures; report maintenance issues, hazards, accidents, or injuries promptly.
- Complete safety training and certifications as required.
- Maintain a clean and professional appearance including uniform upkeep.
- Respect confidentiality and protect company property.
- Support coworkers respectfully and help teams achieve shared objectives.
Physical and Operational Requirements
- Perform various physical tasks including walking, running, bending, reaching, lifting (up to 24.75 kg alone, heavier with assistance), pushing and pulling equipment over uneven surfaces.
- Operate equipment and tools, visually inspecting for defects and using motricity and coordination skills.
- Endure prolonged periods of standing, sitting, walking, kneeling during shifts.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues using clear, professional language.
Desired Qualifications and Experience
- Secondary school diploma or equivalent (General Educational Development certificate).
- At least one year of related work experience, including supervisory experience.
