Position Overview

The Steward role at St. Regis Hotels & Resorts in Astana, Kazakhstan focuses on maintaining kitchen cleanliness and operation of cleaning equipment to support food and beverage services. This non-management full-time role requires attention to hygiene, safety compliance, and teamwork to uphold the venue's high standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and handle cleaning machinery such as dishwashing machines, hand wash and pot-scrubbing stations, and trash compactors.
• Clean and sanitize kitchen and storage areas to maintain hygiene standards; wash tables, tools, knives, and all kitchen equipment properly.
• Manage receiving deliveries while ensuring proper storage and rotation of perishable stock to prevent spoilage.
• Utilize detergent and sanitizers in a three-compartment sink to clean dishes, inspect cleaned items, and handle re-scrubbing when needed.
• Spray racked items with hot water to eliminate food residues and wash or soak silverware accordingly.
• Handle waste management by emptying trashcans, maintaining dumpster areas, recycling cardboard and glass responsibly.
• Clean and mop all assigned departmental areas regularly, including properly disposing of recyclable materials.
• Follow company safety and security policies diligently, report hazards or incidents to management, and complete all safety training and certifications.
• Protect company property and assets during work and communicate professionally with team members.
• Collaborate with coworkers to achieve shared goals and maintain positive relations within the team.
• Adhere strictly to quality standards and expectations in all cleaning and maintenance tasks.
• Perform physical activities such as moving, lifting, pushing, or pulling items up to 50 pounds without assistance; work in varied postures including standing, walking, bending, and stooping for extended periods.
• Carry out other reasonable duties as directed by supervisors.

Candidate Profile

No high school diploma or equivalent is required. No prior related work or supervisory experience is necessary. No special licenses or certifications are needed for this position.
