Role Purpose and Key Responsibilities

The Hostess plays a vital role in crafting a welcoming and hospitable first impression for guests of the restaurant. Responsibilities include managing reservations, greeting guests warmly upon arrival, and efficiently coordinating seating arrangements to ensure a smooth flow of restaurant operations and optimal dining experience.

• Possess in-depth knowledge of dining room layout, table allocation, seating configurations, restaurant capacity, operational hours, pricing structure, and dress code policies.
• Follow established procedures for reservation handling and cancellation management.
• Track daily guest counts including arrivals, departures, and VIP guests.
• Be aware of scheduled in-house events, group activities, their locations, and timings.
• Adhere to all departmental policies and service protocols.
• Respond promptly to incoming telephone calls within three rings, using proper salutations and etiquette.
• Record and confirm restaurant bookings and cancellations, reporting any changes to management throughout the shift.
• Monitor the preparation and readiness of own assigned tasks to ensure compliance with service standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and adequate inventory of menus and check folders.
• Keep the hostess station tidy and well-organized.
• Review reservation logs and pre-assign tables while following up on special guest requests.
• Welcome guests at the restaurant entrance and seat them according to the floor plan, ensuring fairness among food and beverage attendants.
• Escort guests to designated tables and verify their satisfaction with seating arrangements.
• Present menus courteously and ensure tables are impeccably prepared to serve guests.
• Anticipate peak business periods and establish procedures to manage waiting lines effectively.
• Be knowledgeable about hotel services and activities to answer guest inquiries accurately.
• Support supervisors with cashiering duties to ensure accurate financial transactions.
• Assist in printing restaurant menus as needed.
• Report to work punctually, dressed in the required uniform with proper grooming and name tag, upholding hotel appearance and hygiene standards.
• Foster positive working relationships with colleagues across departments.
• Comply with all hotel policies and regulations, especially those concerning fire safety, hygiene, health, and safety practices.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum of one year of hotel experience within a 4- or 5-star property.
• Preference for female candidates fluent in English; additional proficiency in Arabic and French is advantageous.
• Prior experience in guest service or hostess roles is considered a plus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Professional appearance with excellent grooming standards.
• Organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively.
