This role requires a presence in the office two days per week and can be based in Munich, Berlin, or Dublin.
Role Summary
We empower decision-making across the company through strategic insights, automation, and systems improvement. As the Head of Product & Engineering Analytics, you will craft and lead the data strategy for our Product & Tech division. You will pioneer an AI-driven, agentic, and self-serve approach to product analytics, collaborating closely with Product and Engineering leadership while maintaining a hands-on role.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive the evolution of Product & Tech analytics by embedding AI-enabled, autonomous tools that prioritize automated, self-service insight creation.
- Develop and own the data and analytics strategy for the Product & Tech department, aligning it with product development methodologies.
- Utilize data comprehensively throughout the product development lifecycle, from initial discovery and sizing opportunities to assessing post-launch outcomes.
- Establish and maintain metric frameworks that empower teams to set and measure success effectively.
- Collaborate closely with senior product and engineering leaders to anchor strategic and roadmap decisions in data-driven insights.
- Cultivate a data-centric culture by enhancing data literacy and promoting self-serve analytics capabilities within Product & Tech.
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing analytics team while remaining engaged in hands-on activities such as prototyping, modeling, and data analysis.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum 7 years in analytics or data science, including at least 3 years leading product analytics teams involving coaching, recruitment, and team growth.
- Proven direct experience implementing AI and large language models in analytics, including practical deployments such as natural language queries, AI-driven insights, and automated anomaly detection.
- Strong technical proficiency with SQL, Python or R, dbt or similar tools; comfortable with BI platforms such as Looker and Tableau, and behavioral analytics tools including Amplitude, Heap, or Mixpanel; Snowflake experience is advantageous.
- Expertise in developing metrics frameworks and defining success criteria within product organizations.
- Ability to act as a trusted strategic partner to senior product and engineering executives.
- Exceptional communication skills capable of engaging both technical and non-technical stakeholders during transformational initiatives.
