Role Overview

The Head of Enterprise Risk Management is responsible for the strategic oversight and implementation of a comprehensive risk framework across a complex airport group, encompassing operations, construction, engineering, commercial, and corporate sectors. This leadership position demands proactive risk identification, assessment, and mitigation to uphold safe and resilient airport functions and infrastructure growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Formulate and implement the ERM strategy aligning with operational safety and commercial goals.
  • Provide risk advisories to senior executives, the Board, and Risk Committees on major exposures and mitigation plans.
  • Lead enterprise-wide risk initiatives, including Risk Control Self-Assessment programs.
  • Conduct medium to long-term risk forecasting to navigate complex future operational challenges, focusing on interconnected and ecosystem risks.
  • Design and sustain a strong ERM and RCSA framework tailored for multifaceted airport operations like passenger services, cargo handling, retail, and infrastructure.
  • Develop governance structures in collaboration with Internal Audit and second-line defense units to ensure robust risk controls across entities.
  • Review and enhance existing risk management practices to boost workforce productivity while maintaining risk objectives.
  • Prepare detailed risk reporting and dashboards for senior management and board-level decisions.
  • Foster a risk-conscious culture via trainings, workshops, communications, and engagement activities.
  • Offer strategic risk counsel to business units to strengthen enterprise-wide risk management capabilities.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a 4-person ERM team with expertise in risk, compliance, controls, analytics, and advisory services.
  • Encourage cross-departmental collaboration to embed risk practices into everyday operations.
  • Operate as a hands-on leader, actively working alongside team members and independently driving key projects and outcomes.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Aviation Management, Business, or similar fields.
  • Professional certifications in Enterprise Risk Management or equivalent are a plus.
  • Between 10 and 12 years of relevant experience in risk management, including at least 3 years in an ERM leadership role.
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm for risk management with solid understanding of transformations and emerging risks in large-scale operational or infrastructure settings.
  • High energy, resilience, and proven hands-on capability to advance initiatives and deliver results.
