Senior Software Engineer

Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to architect, develop, and maintain full-stack applications facilitating digital transformation in airport operations. This role demands close collaboration with product managers, business stakeholders, and technical teams to create secure, scalable, and maintainable software solutions. Engagement spans from initial problem discovery and prototyping to deployment, support, and ongoing enhancement.

This position is ideal for an autonomous engineer comfortable with ambiguity, capable of making informed technical trade-offs, and effective communication with a diverse audience of technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product managers, business users, and technical partners to understand business challenges, user difficulties, and operational limitations.
• Transform identified problems into clear technical strategies, define delivery milestones, and implement functioning software.
• Lead the technical design of full-stack applications, encompassing frontend structure, backend APIs, data schema, system integrations, security frameworks, and deployment methods.
• Make practical architectural choices considering delivery speed, future maintenance, scalability, reliability, and security.
• Create prototypes for solution validation, user feedback, and mitigating delivery risks.
• Produce clean, maintainable, and production-ready code, predominantly with TypeScript.
• Own end-to-end system management including designing, coding, deploying, monitoring, troubleshooting, and sustaining applications.
• Incorporate production reliability strategies like failure management, observability, operational readiness, and support facilitation.
• Detect, analyze, and resolve issues across applications, interfaces, integrations, and infrastructure.
• Perform code reviews and provide technical mentorship to maintain and enhance code quality, performance, and security.
• Guide and mentor engineering peers and support staff to elevate overall team standards.
• Communicate complex technical ideas, limitations, risks, and trade-offs clearly to engineers, product teams, business users, and executive stakeholders.
• Continuously identify and advocate for technical refinements, reusable components, and process improvements to enhance development quality and team efficiency.

Technical Skills Required

• Proficient in writing clean, maintainable, and production-grade application code using TypeScript.
• Experience developing full-stack web applications with the Next.js framework.
• Skilled in building responsive and maintainable user interfaces with Tailwind CSS.
• Experience designing, querying, and managing document-oriented data models using MongoDB.
• Strong command of Git for source control, including branching strategies, pull requests, and collaborative workflows.
• Knowledgeable in designing, consuming, integrating, and troubleshooting RESTful APIs.
• Ability to containerize applications and use Docker for development and deployment workflows.
• Hands-on experience with user authentication, authorization, role-based access control, and securing application flows.
• Practical experience deploying, operating, or integrating with AWS cloud services.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; candidates with other qualifications considered if demonstrating strong technical skills.
• At least 5 years of relevant software engineering experience.
• Proven expertise in TypeScript and modern full-stack development methodologies.
• Demonstrated ability to design and deliver production systems including APIs, data models, integrations, deployments, and operational support.
• Solid understanding of secure software development principles.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, logging, monitoring, and diagnosing production issues.
• Capability to operate independently and make sound technical choices with partial information.
• Excellent communication skills enabling clear explanation of technical concepts to varied audiences.
