Role Overview
The VoidZero team develops open-source tools that empower the modern web, with projects such as Vite that have expanded the boundaries of web development. This role entails enhancing the VoidZero suite—which includes Vite, Vitest, Rolldown, Oxc, and Vite+—to boost developer productivity. Ideal candidates possess experience in framework development, tooling, or infrastructure, enjoy solving complex challenges collaboratively, and thrive in an open-source environment.
Responsibilities
- Implement and deliver features that enhance developer tools.
- Work together with the open-source community to promote adoption and improve onboarding experiences.
- Enhance tool performance, reliability, and user experience.
Candidate Profile
- Expertise in JavaScript and TypeScript programming.
- A strong passion for open-source projects and developer ecosystems.
- Background in framework creation, developer tooling, or product infrastructure.
- Keen product intuition with an emphasis on developer experience.
- Capability to analyze and debug complex, ambiguous issues based on real data.
- Comfortable collaborating across multiple time zones in remote team settings.
- Effective written communication skills and strong sense of ownership.
Additional Assets
- Experience with Rust is highly advantageous.
- History of maintaining open-source projects.
- Familiarity with compilers, bundlers, test runners, and caching techniques.
- Knowledge of VoidZero-related tools (Vite, Vitest, Rolldown, Oxc, Vite+).
Compensation and Benefits
For candidates based in Portugal, the anticipated annual salary ranges from €54,000 to €80,000. The package includes time exemption benefits as per local laws and collective agreements. This role is eligible for incentive compensation under Cloudflare's Sales Compensation Plan, with equity participation opportunities as well.
