Role Overview
The VoidZero team creates open-source projects that advance modern web development, including tools like Vite that are widely trusted by developers. This position involves enhancing the VoidZero suite (such as Vite, Vitest, Rolldown, Oxc, Vite+), focusing on boosting developer productivity and improving tooling.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and release new features that enhance developer tools.
- Work collaboratively with the open-source community to drive adoption and improve onboarding processes.
- Enhance tool performance, reliability, and overall user experience.
Candidate Profile
- Proficient in JavaScript and TypeScript programming.
- Deep enthusiasm for open-source projects and active participation in developer communities.
- Experience in framework creation, developer tooling, or building product infrastructure.
- Keen sense of product design with a focus on improving developer experience.
- Strong diagnostic skills to explore and resolve complicated, unclear issues based on evidence.
- Ability to effectively collaborate in a remote environment crossing multiple time zones.
- Excellent written communication skills and a strong sense of ownership.
Additional Advantages
- Knowledge of Rust is highly desirable.
- Experience managing open-source projects.
- Familiarity with technologies such as compilers, bundlers, test runners, and caching.
- Direct experience with the VoidZero tool family including Vite, Vitest, Rolldown, Oxc, and Vite+.
Compensation and Benefits
- For hires based in Portugal, the estimated yearly salary ranges from €54,000 to €80,000, inclusive of incentive compensation.
- This role includes eligibility for participation in Cloudflare's equity plan.
