Job description
Position Overview
This role involves maintaining cleanliness and organization in kitchen areas, equipment, dishware, and utensils, as well as supporting food preparation tasks. The position upholds the organization's core values and strategic roadmap.
Key Responsibilities
- Scrape and pre-rinse food from dirty dishes before placing them in the dishwasher (approximately 50% of time).
- Handwash or machine wash pots, pans, and trays (around 15% of duties).
- Complete assigned food preparation tasks (approximately 10%).
- Dispose of trash and garbage by transporting it to the dumpster area (about 10%).
- Clean work tables, walls, refrigerators, cooking equipment, and floors (roughly 5%).
- Maintain cleanliness of garbage cans and trash receptacles (5%).
- Set up, operate, and shut down dishwashing machinery (5%).
- Transport cases weighing up to 50 pounds multiple times daily, including placing items on shelves at varying heights.
- Operate mainly indoors (90%) but also spend some time outdoors (10%).
- Adapt to hot, damp environments and respond appropriately in emergency situations to ensure safety.
Physical and Cognitive Requirements
- Ability to read, understand, and interpret written materials like contracts and manuals, and communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Capable of solving practical problems with limited guidelines and interpreting various instruction formats.
- Frequent physical activity involving sitting, walking, talking, hearing, and using hands; ability to bend, stoop, lift dish racks up to 40 pounds regularly, stand for extended periods, and move between locations.
- Exposure to wet floors, extremes of temperature, and loud noise is expected; visual acuity including close vision and focus adjustment required.
- Mental resilience to work in fast-paced, team-oriented environments, with flexibility to accept changes and communicate effectively.
Work Environment
Work is primarily conducted indoors with occasional outdoor exposure and may require travel to other locations as necessary. The employer reserves the right to modify duties and responsibilities to meet business needs.
