About Kapooka Health Centre

Located about ten minutes from Wagga Wagga within the Kapooka Military area at Blamey Barracks, Kapooka Health Centre supports the Army Recruit Training Centre (ARTC). Known as the "Home of the Soldier," this center includes a 50-bed low dependency ward operating around the clock, offering primary medical, nursing, dental, mental health, pharmaceutical, and physiotherapy services. Staff may be required to work across both Wagga and Kapooka locations. Regular hours are 7:00 to 16:00 Monday through Friday, with potential weekend and on-call duties depending on role.

Role Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional primary healthcare to Defence personnel
• Work within an Occupational Medicine environment
• Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary clinical team
• Conduct fitness-for-duty evaluations and deliver pre- and post-deployment care
• Offer medical advice and guidance to Defence health leadership

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Unrestricted General Practitioner registration with AHPRA
• FRACGP, FACRRM, or equivalent Vocational Registration
• At least two years of GP experience within the last five years
• Current CPR certification (HLTAID009)
• Australian citizenship with Baseline Security Clearance
• Strong dedication to ongoing professional development and ethical, patient-focused healthcare
