Job Overview
The General Accountant will be responsible for verifying the accuracy of figures, entries, and documents ensuring correct coding and mathematical precision. This role involves organizing, safeguarding, and maintaining all financial files, records, and cash assets per organizational guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain financial and accounting data through accurate electronic spreadsheets and computerized systems.
- Classify, code, and summarize numerical data to create and uphold financial records utilizing journals, ledgers, or computer databases.
- Prepare and distribute various reports including statistical, financial, auditing, or payroll documentation.
- Complete period-end closing activities and generate relevant reports as required.
- Review, reconcile, and issue bills, invoices, and statements adhering to company protocols.
- Adhere strictly to company policies and maintain professional appearance and conduct in all interactions.
- Respect and uphold confidentiality of proprietary information and safeguard company assets.
- Provide professional and courteous guest service and communication both verbally and in writing.
- Handle physical tasks involving lifting or moving objects weighing up to 10 pounds without assistance.
- Foster cooperative relationships with colleagues to support team objectives.
- Perform additional tasks as directed by supervisors.
Qualifications and Experience
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent educational background.
- Minimum of one year in a related accounting or finance position.
- No supervisory experience required.
- No specific licenses or certifications necessary.
