Gas Locate Technician

About the Role

Stake Center Locating is seeking entry-level Gas Locate Technicians in Bullhead City, AZ, offering a starting wage of $20.00 per hour. This role entails identifying and marking underground utility lines using paint and flags to prevent damages in the community. Extensive on-the-job training is provided with full pay, designed to develop your skills in utility locating. Ideal candidates are comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions, can work independently, and possess quick, accurate problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Prioritize safety in all aspects of the work
• Operate laptop computers to receive, document, and process work tickets and emails
• Interpret maps and blueprints, planning the optimal method and sequence for locating utilities
• Employ specialized locating equipment and technology to accurately find underground utilities
• Communicate clearly with peers, supervisors, and homeowners

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Hold a high school diploma or equivalent certificate
• Possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Capable of walking up to 5 miles two to three times per week
• Able to carry up to 5 pounds of electronic equipment for prolonged periods; lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift over 75 pounds using tools
• Pass pre-employment background check and drug screening

Schedule and Additional Details

• Availability for a flexible schedule is required, including occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays depending on ticket volume
• Participation in scheduled on-call shifts to respond to emergency calls
