General Technician

About the Role

As a General Technician at Hilton, you will play a vital part in ensuring the hotel's safety and operational efficiency while delivering exceptional hospitality that enhances each guest's experience. Your work will keep the hotel’s physical aspects running smoothly and contribute to a welcoming environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct daily maintenance duties within guest rooms and common public areas.
• Respond swiftly to maintenance requests and emergency situations.
• Carry out routine inspections throughout the hotel to verify the proper functioning of all equipment.
• Collaborate closely with the Engineering Team on scheduled projects and tasks.
• Maintain and take care of all tools, equipment, and workspaces.
• Adhere to all departmental and hotel-wide Health & Safety regulations.
• Provide outstanding customer service when interacting with guests.
• Perform additional assignments from the Chief Engineer to ensure seamless hotel operations.

Additional Responsibilities

• Apply your practical skills with brushes, rollers, and spray techniques; specialized knowledge in paint finishes is favored.
• Participate in planned preventive maintenance and follow safety protocols.
• Work independently with minimal guidance.
• Attend all departmental meetings and trainings for continuous improvement.
• Demonstrate flexibility and team spirit in daily activities.

Safety Measures

Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is mandatory when handling potentially hazardous tasks. PPE will be provided by the hotel, and team members will be trained on proper use and maintenance. Report any defective, lost, or improperly fitting PPE or equipment to management promptly.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Technical Diploma or ITI Certification in Electrical, Mechanical, Air Conditioning, Refrigeration, or a related trade is preferred.

Experience

• 1 to 2 years experience as a General Technician, Maintenance Technician, or related role is necessary.
• Prior experience within hotel, hospitality, residential, or commercial property settings is advantageous.

Technical Skills

• Basic understanding of electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and painting.
• Competent in conducting preventive and corrective maintenance tasks.
• Knowledgeable in the use of maintenance tools and equipment.
• Awareness of workplace health and safety standards.

Preferred Certifications

• Licenses or certifications in Electrical, HVAC, or Refrigeration are desirable.
• Completion of Health & Safety training courses is a plus.
